Castel Group : the international drinks specialist

In 1957 the Castel family made their first investment in the world of Bordeaux wine production by acquiring Château de Goëlane in the Bordeaux Supérieur appellation.

Today, Castel with its 14 châteaux, is the largest owner/ winemaker in the Bordeaux region.

This is a particularly varied portfolio, both in terms of terroir and by the very nature of the wines : prestige wines from Château Barreyres or Château d’Arcins in the Haut-Médoc, character wines from Château Tour Prignac in the Médoc, fruity Côtes du Bourg wine from Château du Bousquet...

The list could easily include most of the great appellations for which the Bordeaux area is famous.

Chateau Ferrande : member of the Union des Grands Cru
The Castel vineyards currently occupy some 3,000 hectares, including Château Cavalier in Provence with its crisp, fragrant wines, the latest of the Castel Family’s properties. Castel’s love of wine knows no borders, and the family can now also boast estates in Morocco, and most recently, Tunisia.
